- According to the IPL press release, “Delhi Capitals captain Rishabh Pant was hit by his team during the Tata Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 match against Kolkata Knight Riders at the Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium, Visakhapatnam on April 3. The penalty has been imposed after maintaining a slow over rate.”
- The press release further reads, “Since this was his team's second offense of the season under the IPL Code of Conduct relating to slow over rate offences, Pant was fined Rs 24 lakh. The remaining members of the playing XI, including the impact players, have been individually fined Rs 6 lakh or 25 percent of their respective match fees, whichever is lower.”
- Let us tell you that, Rishabh Pant was fined Rs 24 lakh, while other members of DC XI including impact player (Abhishek Porel) were fined either Rs 6 lakh or 25% of their match fee.
- Rishabh Pant may be banned for one match: If Delhi Capitals team is found guilty of slow over rate for the third time this season, then captain Rishabh Pant may also be banned for one match. According to the rules of IPL, if the team commits this mistake for the third time, then the captain is banned for one match with a fine of Rs 30 lakh, along with this, the rest of the players of the team (including the impact player) are fined Rs 12 lakh each or He is fined 50% of his match fee.
