CWG 2026 India Medal Tally: The Commonwealth Games 2026 (CWG 2026) concluded spectacularly in Glasgow, Scotland, on Sunday, August 2, 2026. Held from July 23 to August 2, the games saw the Indian contingent demonstrate remarkable talent and spirit.
Delivering a stellar performance, India secured a total of 39 medals (13 gold, 17 silver, and 9 bronze) and claimed the fourth spot on the medal tally. A total of 122 Indian athletes participated across eight able-bodied sports and five integrated para-sports disciplines.

India had achieved a century of medals (101 medals) at the 2010 Delhi Commonwealth Games. At first glance, a tally of 39 medals might seem modest, but in reality, Glasgow 2026 proved to be a blockbuster event for India.
Major Challenge: This time, sports such as wrestling, badminton, table tennis, hockey, and shooting were excluded from the Commonwealth Games roster disciplines where India has traditionally won the highest number of medals.
Despite the absence of these key sports, Indian athletes excelled in new arenas, proving that the scope of Indian sports has expanded significantly.

- Historic Record in Boxing (10 Medals): Indian boxers dominated the ring, winning a total of 10 medals, including 7 gold. This is the largest medal haul in boxing achieved by any country at a single edition of the CWG.
- Mirabai Chanu's Historic Hat-trick: Mirabai Chanu achieved a historic hat-trick in weightlifting by winning her third consecutive CWG title.
- History Created in Judo: Asmita Dey became India's first-ever judo champion at the Commonwealth Games. Shortly after, Harsh Singh also topped the podium by winning a gold medal.
- Gulveer Singh's Historic Double Medal: In athletics, Gulveer Singh became the first Indian track and field athlete to win two individual medals (silver in the 10,000m and bronze in the 5,000m) at a single CWG.
- Stellar Show by Tejaswin Shankar and Neeraj Chopra: Tejaswin Shankar won India's first-ever medal (bronze) in the decathlon, while Neeraj Chopra made a comeback after missing Birmingham 2022 to clinch the silver medal in the men's javelin throw.
