The Hundred Men Competition 2026

'The Hundred' men's tournament is set to return in 2026, with eight teams competing against one another across England and Wales from July 21 to August 16. Organized by the ECB, the tournament will span 34 days, with matches played at renowned stadiums such as Lord's, The Kia Oval, and Edgbaston.

The season will kick off with a double-header at The Kia Oval, where the men's opening match will see MI London take on Sunrisers Leeds. The squads for several teams have already been finalized—a process involving both the retention of existing players and the direct signing of new ones—meaning that all eyes are now fixed on the full schedule for the upcoming season and the final composition of the squads.

What is the Hundred Men's Competition?

The Hundred is a short-format cricket tournament organized by the ECB, in which each team faces 100 balls per innings instead of the traditional overs. In 'The Hundred', bowling is measured in terms of balls rather than traditional overs. Bowlers deliver sets of five balls at a time and can bowl a maximum of 20 balls in a match; if necessary, they may even bowl ten consecutive balls.

This competition was launched to attract new audiences to the sport and to introduce a fast-paced format alongside existing domestic tournaments. Since its inception, 'The Hundred' has featured city-based teams, and in every season, it is held concurrently with a women's competition.

The Hundred Men Winner List from 2021 to 2025

This tournament first commenced in 2021, when the 'Southern Brave' team emerged as champions. Under the captaincy of James Vince, the team delivered consistently brilliant performances throughout the season and achieved the distinction of becoming the tournament's inaugural champions by defeating the 'Birmingham Phoenix' by 32 runs in the final match.

In 2022, all the teams had a much better understanding of how to elevate their game. The defending champions found themselves in trouble and finished in seventh place on the points table. Meanwhile, the Trent Rockets topped the league standings and ultimately claimed the title by defeating the Manchester Originals by two wickets.

In the 2023 season of the tournament, the Oval Invincibles won their maiden title by defeating the Manchester Originals in the final. Subsequently, in the 2024 final, the Invincibles secured their second consecutive title by beating the Southern Brave by 17 runs, and then completed a hat-trick of victories in the 2025 tournament by defeating the Trent Rockets by 26 runs.
