Indias legendary female player and ODI captain Mithali Raj has announced her retirement from international cricket. Mithali played cricket for India for 23 years and holds the record for most runs in womens cricket.

Mithali gave this information by releasing a message on social media on Wednesday, thanking the BCCI and all the fans. He wrote, Many thanks to all of you for all your love and support for so many years. Now I will look forward to the second innings of my life and for this too your love and support will be needed.

Mithali wrote in her emotional message, I started my service in Blue Jersey as a little girl. Nothing can be a greater honor than playing for your country. My journey was full of ups and downs and each event taught me something new and different. Last 23 years have been the happiest, challenging and funniest years of my life.

Mithali Raj career

Mithali Raj, who made her international debut against Ireland on 26 June 1999, played her last match against South Africa on 27 March 2022. During this he played 12 Tests, 232 ODIs and 89 T20 Internationals. Mithali scored 699 runs in Tests with 1 century and 4 half-centuries. Whereas in ODIs he added 7805 runs with 7 centuries and 64 half-centuries. Talking about T20 cricket, he scored 2364 runs with 17 half-centuries.
