Ravindra Jadeja, the Indian all-rounder, was taken for precautionary scans on Saturday (August 28), to determine the extent of an injury to his knee confirmed a team spokesperson.
Jadeja left the field after the 32nd over of Englands innings on Day 1 of the third Test. He tried to make a stop when Haseeb Hameed guided a Mohammad Shami delivery past point but the ball evaded him and he landed on his right knee. Later, in the same over, he was seen walking off holding his right leg.
Jadeja, who had bowled five overs at that stage, did not bowl the rest of the day but he completed 32 overs in the only innings that England batted. Jadeja also batted in Indias second innings, scoring a 25-ball 30.
India lost the third Test in Leeds inside four days, going down by an innings and 76 runs as England leveled the series.
