There was hope after India women managed to beat England women in the second T20I to remain in the hunt for the third and final T20I, but those hopes were dashed by England opener Danielle Wyatt as she scored an unbeaten 89 to help England win the match comfortably by eight wickets in Chelmsford.
The diminutive right-hand batter had questions mark over her place in the England squad but Wyatt answered those questions by playing a flawless knock, which came off just 56 balls.
The T20I series win has ensured England pocket the multi-format series as well with 10 points as compared to India’s six points. The visitors were a much-improved side in the shortest format, but in the end, England were too good in all the departments of the game.
Earlier in the day, India’s T20I vice-captain Smriti Mandhana helped India post a competitive total of 153. The southpaw was at her very best and dominated the innings by playing brilliant innings of 70 runs.

Effortless.
