The 2022 edition of the Women’s T20 Challenge is slated to start on May 23 (Monday) at the Maharashtra Cricket Association (MCA) Stadium, Pune. To note, all encounters will be played at the same venue. Like in the previous edition, a total of three teams will compete for the title with the final set to be played on May 28 (Saturday).The first group stage match of the tournament will be played between Trailblazers and Supernovas. While Trailblazers will be under the command of opener Smriti Mandhana, Supernovas will be captained by veteran Harmanpreet Kaur. Both teams are packed with superstar players and it will be an exciting first match to start the tournament.
The pitch at the MCA Stadium in Pune seems to have slowed down with several encounters of the Indian Premier League (IPL) played on the turf. However, a score of 125-135 can be a good one on the wicket and the skipper winning the toss might want to have a bat first.
