Dubai: BCCI (Cricket Board of India) President Sourav Ganguly has been appointed as the chairman of the ICC Men's Cricket Committee. The governing body of the game gave this information on Wednesday. Ganguly will replace fellow Indian Anil Kumble, who stepped down from the post thrice after assuming the responsibility for a maximum period of three years each. ICC (International Cricket Council) President Greg Barkley said in a release, "I am delighted to welcome Sourav to the post of Chairman of the ICC Men's Cricket Committee. ,

He said, "His experience as the best players in the world and then as an administrator will help us make future cricket decisions." I would like to thank him for his superb ability, which includes improving the international match by using DRS regularly and consistently and adopting a robust procedure to deal with suspicious bowling action.
The board also approved that the first-class status and List A qualification for women's cricket will be implemented like the men's game. The ICC Women's Committee will further be known as the ICC Women's Cricket Committee. Cricket West Indies CEO Johnny Grave has been appointed to the ICC Women's Committee.
