Indian men's under-19 cricket team is out of Asia Cup. Bangladesh defeated India by 4 wickets in the second semi-final played at ICCA ground in Dubai on Friday. Bangladesh won the toss and decided to field. Batting first, India was all out on the score of 188 in 42.4 overs. In reply, Bangladesh chased the target of 189 runs in 42.5 overs.
On the other hand, in the first semi-final, UAE defeated Pakistan by 11 runs. Batting first, UAE was all out for 193 runs. Pakistan came out to chase the target but could not chase the target and was all out on the score of 182 runs. Now the final match will be played between Bangladesh and UAE.
The main reason for India's poor performance was their top order. Adarsh Singh, who came to open, was out after scoring 2 runs and Arshin Kulkarni was out after scoring 1 run. Priyanshu Molia could score only 19 runs, while captain Uday Saharan returned to the pavilion without opening his account. After the fall of 4 wickets, Musheer Khan took over the innings and scored a half-century. At the same time, Murugan Abhishek also played an inning of 62 runs. Thanks to these two strong innings, India's score reached 188 runs. The team was all out in 42.4 overs.
Muruf Mrida took 4 wickets for Bangladesh. Whereas, Rohanat and Sheikh Jiban got 2-2 wickets. While Mahfuzoor Rahman got 1 success.
Bangladesh set out to chase the target of 189 runs. Even in the beginning of the innings, Bangladesh's wickets kept falling like India's. Openers Ashikur Rahman were out after scoring 7 runs and Zishan Alam 0 runs. At number three, Mohammad Rizwan returned to the pavilion after scoring 13 runs.
After Bangladesh were in trouble in the run chase at 34-3, Ariful Islam and Ahrar Amin came to the rescue. There was a partnership of 138 runs between the two.
Ariful was the star of the show with the bat for Bangladesh as he scored 94 runs in just 90 balls and was supported by Ahrar Amin who scored 44 runs in 101 balls. From here the game changed for India and Bangladesh came in a strong position. Captain Mahfuzur and Paveez Shaikh remained unbeaten on 3 runs and 2 runs respectively as Bangladesh scored 189 runs losing 6 wickets in 42.5 overs.
The final match will be played between Bangladesh and UAE on Sunday i.e. 17th December. In the same tournament, Bangladesh has defeated UAE in the group stage.
