BGT 2024-25: In the recently concluded Border Gavaskar Trophy (2024-25), the form of Team India's veteran batsmen Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma was very ordinary. Looking at the form of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, it is being said that now they may never get a chance to play a Test match for India. Rohit had even ruled himself out of the Sydney Test due to his poor form, but Virat Kohli played in this Test match and he flopped once again.

India now has to play the next Test series in England in June. In such a situation, it will have to be seen on what basis these two veterans are selected. Actually, both these players do not even participate in domestic cricket, where they can make a place in the team by performing. In such a situation, when head coach Gautam Gambhir was questioned about this, he refused to answer. Virat and Rohit have not played domestic cricket for many years.

Gautam Gambhir gave a big statement about Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma

During the press conference after the defeat in the Sydney Test, Gautam Gambhir was asked about the future of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. Responding to this, Gambhir said, 'I cannot comment on the future of any player. It depends on the players, they have hunger and commitment. Hopefully they will do everything possible to take Indian cricket forward.'

Gambhir said, 'I would always want everyone to play domestic cricket. And everyone should play domestic cricket. None of them are available and committed to play red ball cricket, everyone should play. If you do not do this, you will never get the desired results.'

India has to start the next cycle of the next WTC with a Test series against England in June. That is, India will not play any match in the Test format at the international level for about five-six months.
