The current Test skipper of England, Ben Stokes has announced his retirement from the ODI format. He announced that he will play his last game in the format against South Africa on Tuesday in Durham.
He stated that it has been a tough decision for him to make but he feels that he cannot give his 100 percent in the ODIs. The left-handed batter scored 2919 runs in 104 games and took 74 wickets. His best performance was undoubtedly in the 2019 World Cup final where he single-handedly won England the title.
