Why Virat Kohli retire from Test?: A new debate has erupted in Indian cricket. Former cricketer Mohammad Kaif made a surprising claim during the 'Amar Ujala Samvad' event in Dehradun. Kaif believes that Virat Kohli could have played Test cricket for a few more years but was forced to retire due to the attitude of the team management.

People generally assume that Virat quit Test cricket due to poor form or a lack of runs, but Kaif has dismissed this notion entirely. According to Kaif:
- Team Management's Behavior: Virat began to feel that certain individuals within the team no longer wanted him there.
- Feeling Unwanted in the Dressing Room: Virat felt as though the team management was telling him, "You should leave now; we can manage without you." Once he stopped feeling 'welcome' in the team, he made the decision to retire with a heavy heart.
Virat Kohli's Forced Retirement Decision Despite Test Cricket Being His First Love
Kaif clarified that Test cricket was Virat Kohli's first love. He always regarded Tests as the ultimate format and wanted to set an example for the youth regarding the grit and struggle required on the field over five days. He would never have left this format voluntarily, but circumstances within the team compelled him to say, "Fine, I am leaving now."
Indian Cricket's Brand Value and Business Culture: Why Separate Teams are Difficult
During the discussion, when Aakash Chopra raised the question of having separate teams for different formats, Kaif remarked that doing so is difficult in India. He noted that modern cricket is 'brand-driven.' Players like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are massive brands; it is their names that draw the media, attract fans, and generate revenue. The IPL is also a business, where franchises chase big names to line their pockets and make a profit.
