Cricket Australia is considering David Warner, who is facing the Lifetime Leadership Ban. If this happens then Warner could become Australia's next ODI captain. Finch relinquished the captaincy after the series against New Zealand.

After Aaron Finch, there is a constant churning about who will be the next captain of the Australian cricket team. In this sequence, according to the update quoting Cricket Australia, the ban on Devin Warner is being considered to be removed.

Warner was handed a lifetime ban for leadership after his involvement in ball-tampering in 2018. But now it is being considered. If this happens, the way for him to become the captain of the Australia ODI team will be cleared. Having played 100 Test matches for the ODI captain and nearing his 100th T20, Warner is the biggest contender. Many senior players also gave their feedback in his support.

The Australian Associated Press has been quoted as saying that Cricket Australia will need to change its code if the ban on Warner is to be lifted. A decision regarding this will be taken in the meeting to be held in Hobart on Friday.

Australia was to play a bilateral series with Afghanistan next year in which the team would play one-day matches. But the team has already refused to play Afghanistan. However, the team will play each other in the World Cup on November 4.

When Warner was asked about this, he said that he does not know anything about it but if he gets a chance to become the captain then it will be a matter of honor. Earlier, Finch, who was the ODI captain of the team, also wants Warner to take over this responsibility.

He recently said about Warner's captaincy that he is someone under whose leadership I have played for Australia many times when he has got the opportunity to captain, and he has been fantastic. He is an incredible captain and people love to play under him.
