The Indian team is unbeaten so far in this World Cup. They had won three out of four group matches before defeating Afghanistan in their first Super Eight match in Barbados on Thursday. The match against Canada was washed out due to rain.
There is only one day's difference between India's three Super-8 matches. The special thing is that all three matches are on different Caribbean grounds. In such a situation, the team has to travel a lot. After playing a match against Afghanistan in Barbados, Team India has reached Antigua to play a match against Bangladesh. Due to spending a lot of time in traveling, the team management held an optional training session at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium on Friday. Most of the regular players stayed away from this session. Only captain Rohit Sharma and his opening partner Virat Kohli, who are both struggling to find their rhythm in this T20 World Cup, Ravindra Jadeja, Sanju Samson and reserve bowler Khalil Ahmed were seen present during the training session. Rahul Dravid and Vikram Rathod from the coaching staff were also present during this time.

According to a report by RevSportz, the two players took part in a practice session for about two hours. During this, Samson, who has not been included in the Indian playing XI in this T20 World Cup so far, batted in the same nets with Rohit. Both Dravid and Rohit were very cautious about Samson's net session and also interacted with him, possibly indicating that India may give Samson a chance in the match against Bangladesh on Saturday.
Shivam Dubey is the most reasonable option to make room for the Rajasthan Royals captain after his poor form so far in the World Cup tournament. Dubey has so far scored only 44 runs in four matches at a strike rate of 83, including his best performance of 31 not out against the USA on a difficult pitch in New York. The matter of concern is that Dubey was selected in the team only for his six-hitting ability. He has so far managed to hit just two sixes in 53 balls in the T20 World Cup 2024. Not only this, captain Rohit has used Dubey very little as a bowler.

Dubey has bowled in only one match. The team already has six bowling options. In such a situation, the team management can field a specialist batsman. However, with the inclusion of Dubey, it will definitely be a matter of thought that India's batting line-up will lose one left-handed batsman. It will also be worth seeing in which order Samson will be fielded if he plays. The team management can send him at number four or five. Or considering Virat's form as an opener, Samson can also come down as an opener. However, doing so will scatter the entire batting order.
