The on-field umpire did not give any decision and instead referred it to the third umpire for a waist-height no-ball and he called it out. The former RCB captain was furious after the third umpire's decision and RCB captain Faf du Plessis was also seen having an animated conversation with the umpires.

Kohli was seen standing outside the crease trying for the ball and claimed that the ball had passed above his waist. However, replays showed that the ball had passed below his waist and hence the delivery was ruled valid.

Kohli had initially left but he returned to show his face to the umpire. The RCB star could not believe that he was declared out and broke the dustbin while going to the pavilion.
