Ravichandran Ashwin (R Ashwin) has suddenly left the third test of IND vs ENG and returned to Chennai due to family emergency. BCCI gave this information on X (formerly Twitter). BCCI Vice President Rajiv Shukla also informed in a tweet that Ashwin's mother is unwell, due to which he hastily left the third Test midway and returned to his home. Rajiv Shukla has tweeted and prayed for the speedy recovery of Ashwin's mother.

BCCI said in its statement that in this difficult time of Ashwin, BCCI and the team are with him. The board and the team will continue to provide all possible support to Ashwin and will keep lines of communication open to provide support if needed. Team India also appreciates the understanding and sympathy of the fans and media in this sensitive time.

R Ashwin completed 500 wickets in test cricket

On the second day of the Rajkot Test being played between India and England, R Ashwin completed his 500 wickets in the Test. He made England's opening batsman Jack Crawley his victim and achieved this special position. Ashwin became the second Indian player to take 500 wickets. During this, Ashwin overtook Anil Kubale. Former Indian captain Anil Kumble had completed 500 wickets in 105 Test matches. At the same time, Ashwin achieved this feat in 98 test matches.
