CSK Spot-Fixing Controversy: Chennai Super Kings (CSK), one of the most successful and popular franchises in the Indian Premier League (IPL), is facing serious allegations regarding match-fixing and the leaking of insider information. Given the gravity of the situation, the franchise has convened an emergency board meeting. This crucial meeting will take place just before the franchise's Annual General Meeting (AGM), scheduled for September 25.
The board meeting will address the veracity of these claims, the impact on the franchise's reputation, and the roadmap for future legal and administrative actions regarding the matter.

The issue came to light following revelations involving former Ranji Trophy player Rachit Bhatia. According to media reports, a prolonged undercover investigation conducted between December 2025 and August 2026 allegedly revealed that CSK's internal and confidential information was being passed on to bookmakers.

IPL 2025 Spot-Fixing Claim: ₹60 Lakh Paid Per Match

According to the investigation report, Rachit Bhatia claimed that during the IPL 2025 season, he provided confidential information regarding CSK's playing XI (team composition) to bookmakers based in London.
- Illegal Earnings: Bhatia claims he received ₹60 lakh per match for this activity.
- Total Amount: He reportedly earned approximately ₹3 crore through bookmakers over the course of the IPL 2025 season.
IPL 2026 Fixing Attempt Fails After Auction Mismatch
Reports further indicate that Bhatia had intended to leak similar insider information during the IPL 2026 season as well. However, his plan did not succeed.
