Manu Bhaker Asian Games 2026: Indian shooter Manu Bhaker missed out on a medal in the women’s 10m Air Pistol final at the Asian Games 2026. After finishing third in the qualification round, Bhaker entered the final with hopes of challenging for a medal. However, she could not maintain her rhythm and finished fifth with 181.1 points.
Bhaker was one of India’s major medal hopes in shooting. Her qualification performance had raised expectations, but she could not produce a podium finish in the final.
Manu Bhaker Misses Medal After Finishing 5th in 10m Air Pistol Final
Manu Bhaker finished fifth in the women’s 10m Air Pistol final with 181.1 points. She struggled to find consistency during the final and was unable to move into the medal positions.
The top three positions were secured by shooters from South Korea, China and Chinese Taipei.
- Gold: Choo Gaeun (South Korea) - 184.5 points
- Silver: Jiang Ranxin (China) - 182.0 points
- Bronze: Cheng Yen Ching (Chinese Taipei) - 181.9 points
- Fifth: Manu Bhaker (India) - 181.1 points
The narrow difference between the scores made the final highly competitive, but Bhaker ultimately missed the podium.

Bhaker had qualified for the final after finishing third in the qualification round. Her start in qualification was not ideal, but she recovered strongly and secured a place in the medal event.
That comeback had raised hopes of another strong performance in the final. However, she could not replicate that momentum and finished outside the medal positions.
South Korea’s Choo Gaeun Wins Gold in 10m Air Pistol
South Korea’s Choo Gaeun produced the highest score in the final to win the gold medal with 184.5 points.
China’s Jiang Ranxin took silver with 182.0 points, while Cheng Yen Ching of Chinese Taipei finished third with 181.9 points to claim bronze.
India Finishes Fourth in 10m Air Pistol Shooting Team Event
India also missed out on a medal in the 10m Air Pistol team event. The Indian team finished jointly in fourth place.
The result was another disappointment for the Indian shooting contingent, which had been expected to challenge for medals at the Asian Games.

India had positive news in women’s kabaddi as the Indian team registered a convincing 37-23 victory over Iran.
India controlled the match from the beginning and never allowed Iran to take the lead. The team had earlier defeated Bangladesh 42-21, making it two strong wins for India in the competition.
Mirabai Chanu Set for 49kg Weightlifting Event at Asian Games
Another major medal opportunity for India comes in weightlifting, where Mirabai Chanu is competing in the women’s 49kg category.
The Indian contingent will be hoping for a strong performance from the experienced weightlifter as India looks to add more medals to its Asian Games tally.

India won its first gold medal at the Asian Games 2026 through the women’s cricket team. The Indian team defeated Sri Lanka in the final on Tuesday to claim the gold medal.
At the time of writing, India had won 9 medals, including:

India was placed eighth in the medal table at that stage of the competition.
