Afghanistan team squad announced for ODI and T20 series
Afghanistan has announced the team for the ODI and T20 series against Zimbabwe. The captaincy of the ODI team is in the hands of Hasmatullah Shahidi. Rashid Khan has been made the captain of the T20 team.

Afghanistan has to play a series of three ODIs and three T20 matches against Zimbabwe in December and now the Afghanistan Cricket Board has announced the team for both the series. Star off-spinner Mujeeb Ur Rahman has returned to the team. He was out due to a hand injury. Earlier, he was seen playing in the Abu Dhabi T10 League in November. At the same time, batsman Zubaid Akbari has got a place in Afghanistan's T20 team for the first time.
For some time now, whenever Zubaid Akbari has got a chance, he has grabbed it with both hands. In the Emerging Asia Cup T20 tournament, he was successful in impressing everyone with his game and was the second-highest run scorer for Afghanistan-A. Then he scored 137 runs in four matches at a strike rate of 131.73. He may also get a chance to debut, as injured Ibrahim Zadran is not included in the Afghan team. He was injured against England. Now he has undergone ankle surgery and is recovering.
24-year-old young player Darvesh Rasooli has also got a chance in the team. Under his captaincy, the Afghan team won the Emerging Asia Cup title. He has played 7 T20 International matches for the team, in which he has scored a total of 51 runs. He played his last T20 International match in January 2024. At the same time, young spinner Noor Ahmed has been selected only in the T20 team.
ACB interim chief selector Ahmed Shah said that it is a great feeling to see spinner Mujeeb ur Rahman recovering from his injury and being available for selection. He is an important member of our team and we hope he continues to perform well for Afghanistan. Zubaid Akbari and Darvesh Rasooli have been performing consistently not only in domestic cricket but also in the recently concluded ACC Emerging Team Cup, where Afghanistan won the title.
