She said that she is not the only one, but there are other women wrestlers in India who have been harassed by Brajbhushan Sharan Singh, surveyor of the wrestling association and the coach-referee associated with his association. However, she said that she herself has not been a victim of sexual harassment. He said- I know about 10-20 cases of sexual harassment of women wrestlers. Can't take names, those who won't come forward themselves, won't put their lives in danger zone. There are many coaches and referees who are doing all this. We will present all the evidence when the High Court directs us. We are ready to hand over all the evidence to the PM as well. We will sit on dharna until the culprits are punished. No athlete will take part in any event.
About 30 wrestlers, including Bajrang Poonia, Vinesh Phogat, Asu Malik, Sakshi Malik, Satyavrat Kadian, Aakhri Panghal, Ravi Dahiya, Deepak Poonia, Sangeeta Phogat, Sarita Mor, Sonam Malik, Mahavir Phogat, Kuldeep Malik are sitting on protest.
Bajrang Punia - Bronze medalist in Tokyo Olympics. He won gold in Commonwealth 2022. Bajrang Punia has won three medals including 2 gold in Commonwealth Games. Poonia has won four medals in the World Wrestling Championship. Bajrang also won the bronze medal in the 2013 and 2019 championships. At the same time, he was successful in winning the silver medal in the 2018 World Championship.
Sakshi Malik - Rio Olympic medalist. In the 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games, Sakshi won a silver medal in the 58 kg category. Sakshi then won a bronze medal in the 60 kg category at the 2015 Senior Asian Wrestling Championships in Doha.
