The first match of the three-match T20 series between India and West Indies is to be played on 16 February at the Eden Gardens ground in Kolkata. Before the start of this series, Team India has suffered a big setback. Off-spinner Washington Sundar has been ruled out of the entire series due to injury.
The BCCI gave this information on Monday. Kuldeep Yadav has been selected as the replacement for Washington Sundar who was part of the ODI squad.
According to the press release issued by the BCCI, "All-rounder Washington Sundar suffered a left muscle strain while fielding in the third ODI against West Indies played at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Friday, due to which he will be in Kolkata for the upcoming three matches from February 16. Paytm has been ruled out of the T20 series.
The All India Senior Selection Committee has named Kuldeep Yadav as Washingtons replacement.

Washington Sundar has become the third Indian player to be ruled out of the T20I series. Before him, vice-captains KL Rahul and Axar Patel have also been ruled out of the series. Rituraj Gaikwad and Deepak Hooda have been included in the team as their replacements.
The BCCI had issued a press release stating that Rahul suffered a muscle strain while fielding in the second ODI against West Indies, while Axar was in the final stages of his rehabilitation after recovering from the corona virus. Will not be able to play the series. He will now go to the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru for further monitoring of his injury.
