Jos Buttler smashed a 52-ball 67 as Rajasthan Royals scored 158/6 against Mumbai Indians. The second-highest scorer for RR was Ravichandran Ashwin (21 off 9 balls) who played a cameo to take RR past the 150-run mark. For MI, who are yet to open their account in the tournament, Riley Meredith (2/24) accounted for two wickets, while debutant spinner Kumar Kartikeya was impressed with his one for 19 in his four overs and Daniel Sams (1/32) snapped one.

Id definitely take it, thats how we play, real potential came out today, with the ball specially. They kept applying the pressure. If you keep taking wickets, its going to be difficult for them, we did that perfectly today.

Tim David and Kieron Pollard held their nerves after a brilliant partnership between Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Varma as Mumbai Indians ended their eight-match losing streak in IPL 2022. MI beat Rajasthan Royals by 5 wickets at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai on Saturday.

It does (victory means a lot), because its not an easy time for us. We need to stick together as a team. We didnt win matches earlier, but loved the effort put by the team today. You will lose wickets, you will score runs, such things happen in cricket. The intent from every batter was to finish the game. Hopefully we win a few more matches in the upcoming games. I was keeping for 20 overs and figured out the wicket wasnt easy to score sixes. My intent was to get boundaries in the powerplay to make it easier for the other batters, so that they could come in and score freely. We want to win all the games and make the tournament tough. We need to forget this match and focus on the next game now.
