Sanju Samson ruled out of T20I series against Sri Lanka , Indian teams wicket-keeper batsman Sanju Samson has been ruled out of the T20 series against Sri Lanka due to a knee injury. Jitesh Sharma has been included in his place in the Indian team. Samson suffered a knee injury while fielding in the first match of the series in Mumbai. During the first T20 match, Samson had injured his left knee while trying to stop the ball near the boundary. The BCCI medical team took him to Mumbai for a scan and he has been advised rest.
In the first match of this series, Samson was dismissed after scoring only five runs, but Team India won the match by two runs due to the brilliant performance of the bowlers. With this, India is ahead 1-0 in the three-match series. Vidarbha wicketkeeper-batsman Jitesh Sharma has been included in the Indian squad in place of Samson. He will be the cover for Ishan Kishan for the next two matches.
A BCCI source said, "Samson has stayed back in Mumbai to undergo some scans. Yes, Jitesh is joining the team. He has been rewarded for his performance for Punjab Kings in the IPL."

Which player will get a chance in IND vs SL 2nd T20I, Rahul Tripathi may get a chance to debut due to Samsons injury. Tripathi, who has been a consistent performer in the IPL, has been with the team for some time now but has not played any matches so far. However, Samson came in to bat very low in the first match and Rahul Tripathi prefers to bat at the top of the order. In such a situation, Jitesh Sharma can get a chance to play for India directly.

He has scored runs at an impressive strike rate of 163.64 and 44 runs has been his biggest innings. Jitesh Sharma has done brilliantly for Punjab Kings. He is also known for his explosive batting in domestic cricket. Jitesh, 29, had explosive batting in the lower order for Punjab in IPL 2022. He can do the same wonders for India as well.
