Pakistani players are yet to get the central contract. Pakistani cricketers do not seem happy at all about the delay in getting the contract. According to the report of 'Cricket Pakistan', the players are very disappointed with the board over the uncertainty of the central contract. In 2023, the central contract was made till 2026.

Pakistani players have not received salary for the last four months. The report also mentioned that Pakistan's performance in the 2023 ODI World Cup forced the PCB to once again review the contract.

The Pakistan team has been going through a bad form since the ODI World Cup 2023. The team could not make it to the semi-finals in the ODI World Cup. Then in the 2024 T20 World Cup too, the team was seen in poor form. Pakistan could not even reach the Super-8 in the T20 World Cup. The team was eliminated from the group stage after losing to USA and India. Recently, Bangladesh defeated the Pak team 2-0 in the home Test series.
