Born on 6th December 1994 in Mumbai, Shreyas Iyer is a right-handed batter representing India and is considered by many as a future star in the cricket-loving nation.
Iyer began his career by playing cricket for his college team and in 2014, he represented India at the Men’s Under-19 World Cup. After returning from the World Cup, he made his T20 debut for Mumbai against Baroda in the 2014 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy season. Later in the year, he made his List A and first-class debuts for Mumbai. In 2015, Iyer was picked by the Delhi franchise for the 2015 Indian T20 League. He had a breakout season that year, scoring 439 runs in 14 matches, and was also awarded the Emerging Player of the Tournament.
A couple of years later, in October 2017, Iyer made his T20I debut for India during the home series against New Zealand, and the following month, he made his ODI debut against Sri Lanka.
