Police stated on Wednesday that a 15-year-old kid died after he was allegedly struck in the head following a cricket match in Jhalawar. According to them, the event happened on Tuesday afternoon in the town of Bhawani Mandi.
After his team lost the match, a player from the other team struck the child in the head with a bat, according to the police.Later that night, during treatment, the adolescent passed away from head injuries, they reported.
According to police, the victim, named as Prakash Sahu, who lived in Bhawani Mandi town's Rajasthan Textiles Mills Labour Colony, was given to his family on Wednesday following the post-mortem.
The culprit, a 20-year-old colony resident named Mukesh Meena, is in custody.
Circle Inspector Mangilal Yadav stated that Sahu, a Class 10 student, and Meena, a B.A. final-year student, lived in the same colony and were friends. They would play cricket on the colony pitch every day.
Tuesday afternoon, as Sahu and his teammates celebrated winning the cricket match, Meena, who was upset about the outcome, attacked the former from behind with a cricket bat.
After Sahu passed out right away, the medical staff at the nearby hospital immediately sent him to Kota. The teenager passed away late on Tuesday night from his wounds while receiving care at a Kota hospital, according to Yadav.
Meena has been charged with murder under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), according to the police.
The accused was kept in a room by his family when the local labourers wrecked his bike earlier in the day, according to the police.They added that since the event, there are now more police officers in the area.
