Shubman Gill Injured: Major news has emerged from the Indian camp just 48 hours before the start of the three-match ODI series against the West Indies in Thiruvananthapuram.

During a practice session at the Greenfield International Stadium on Friday, captain Shubman Gill was injured by a rising delivery from fast bowler Mohammed Siraj. The ball struck Gill directly on his right elbow; he was seen wincing in pain and had to immediately leave the nets.

Medical treatment lasted 20 minutes

After sustaining an injury in the nets, Shubman Gill immediately called for the physio. He remained under the close supervision of the medical team for about 20 minutes, and his right elbow was bandaged.

Later, while he was resting in the dugout, senior teammate Rohit Sharma personally checked on him to assess the injury. Fortunately, once the pain subsided, Gill returned to the nets to face throw-downs before the session concluded.

Rohit and Virat Bat Together in the Nets

Shortly before the captain sustained an injury, the experienced duo of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli practiced batting side-by-side in adjacent nets for about 20 minutes.

Having missed the previous series against Afghanistan, Kohli appeared to be in excellent rhythm, and both players executed superb strokes against a mix of Indian bowlers and local net bowlers.

Meanwhile, the team's bowling coach, Morne Morkel, openly praised the atmosphere in the dressing room. Morkel said, "Shubman has done a fantastic job with the captaincy so far, but I have always considered the role of senior players in the team to be crucial.

Many young players feel more comfortable talking to specific senior players. We are fortunate to have the support of experienced stalwarts like Rohit and Virat.
