Afghanistan has announced its team for the Test series against Zimbabwe. Young and experienced players have got a chance in the team.
The Afghanistan Cricket Board has announced the team for the two-Test series against Zimbabwe. Hasmatullah Shahidi has been made the captain of the team for the Test series. Star spinner Rashid Khan has returned to the Test team after a long time. He played the last Test match for Afghanistan in the year 2021. He has played 5 Test matches so far, in which he has taken 34 wickets.
7 uncapped players have got a chance in the team for the Test series against Zimbabwe. These include all-rounder Ismat Alam, spinner Zaheer Shahzad and fast bowler Bashir Ahmed Afghan. All three have performed well in domestic cricket, for which they have now got the reward. Azmatullah Umarzai, Farid Ahmed Malik, Riaz Hasan and Sediqullah Atal have also been made part of the team. These players have also not yet made their debut in Test cricket. All four of them got a chance in the team for the only Test against New Zealand, which was canceled without a single ball being bowled due to rain.
Both Test matches between Afghanistan and Zimbabwe will be played in Bulawayo. The first match will be played on 26 December. The second match will be played from 2 January 2025.
