In a video rapidly going viral on social media, fans wearing Indian team jerseys began chanting "Trophy Chor" (Trophy Thief) the moment they spotted Mohsin Naqvi. Although the fans were seated at a distance from the stage, their chanting was loud enough to draw everyone's attention in the stadium toward Naqvi. Amidst this intense protest and chanting, Naqvi quietly got into his car and left after handing the cheque to the runners-up, Sri Lanka.
Team India Refuses to Accept Asia Cup Trophy from ACC Chief
After securing the victory, the Indian team made it clear that they would not accept the Asia Cup trophy from Mohsin Naqvi. Consequently, the Indian players flatly refused to receive the trophy from him on the podium.
The team's head coach, Amol Mazumdar, revealed after the match that the BCCI had issued clear instructions that the team should not accept the trophy if Naqvi were to present it. The players strictly adhered to the board's directives.

This is not the first time Naqvi has faced such humiliation. Last year, during the Men's Asia Cup, the Indian team led by Suryakumar Yadav had also won the title after defeating Pakistan.

He stated that the decision not to accept the trophy from Mohsin Naqvi was made keeping in mind the nation's pride, the respect of Indian fans, and the incident involving the men's team last year (where they did not receive the trophy).
