India captain and former Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma played as an impact player in his team's defeat against Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL 2024 at the Wankhede Stadium on Friday. After sitting out during KKR's innings, Rohit came in as an influential player and his wicket was taken by Sunil Narine. Rohit Sharma scored 11 runs in 12 balls.
In the match played against KKR, Mumbai team won the toss and decided to bowl first. During the toss, when Hardik Pandya announced that Rohit Sharma would play as an impact player, everyone started trolling Pandya, but Piyush Chawla revealed the reason behind it. Piyush told that Rohit Sharma had a slight strain in his back, due to which he was not included in the playing-11
After the match, Piyush Chawla said that Rohit had a slight pain in his back and he had come only as a precautionary measure. We have entered for glory and honor, because sometimes you enter the field without thinking whether you will qualify or not. You play for your name, we are also playing for our name. We all have heard that T20 is a game of rhythm and this season we could not find the rhythm. This can happen with any team. This is not the first time this has happened to us. This can happen with any other team also.
Rohit Sharma has so far scored 326 runs in 11 innings of IPL 2024. He scored his second IPL century of the tournament in Mumbai Indians' match against Chennai Super Kings at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. He looks in good shape and is working on a strategy to get the team off to a fast start. But in IPL, Rohit Sharma is not able to perform well in some matches. Bo emerged as an impressive player against Kolkata but could not do anything special. He could score only 11 runs against Kolkata. Sunil Narayan dismissed him. Rohit is trying to regain his form.
