Virat Kohli has never won an IPL trophy, and the India legend will be looking to finally bag one at the upcoming Indian Premier League season. At the IPL 2024 Auction, RCB began with the purchase of West Indies international Alzarri Joseph for a whooping sum of ₹11.50 crore, from a base price of ₹1 crore.
Speaking on the purchase of Joseph, RCB director of cricket Mo Bobt told PTI, “We are happy to buy Alzarri Joseph. From our perspective, he was our top three targets. From an overseas fast bowling perspective, you are always trying. Navigate through the auction order, which makes things a little tricky. We made a good decision.
I think, to bring forward our interest in Alzarri and make a good impact on him because he is a player we really like with Alzarri now, he bowls at a fast pace, he has a high release. the point is. That's why there is a surge in it. We know that bounce at the Chinnaswamy Stadium is important. He also has superb death skills. If you look at his record, he can overtake anyone at the last moment.
RCB also participated in a bidding war to sign Yash Dayal and eventually bought him for ₹5 crore. Meanwhile, they added Tom Curran for ₹1.5 crore and New Zealand's Lockie Ferguson for ₹2 crore.
