New Zealand squad announced for ODI series against Sri Lanka
New Zealand has announced the squad for the upcoming three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka. Tom Latham has been made the captain of New Zealand. New Zealand has decided to release Kane Williamson, Tim Southee, Devon Conway and Mitchell Santner for IPL 2023.
These four players will join their respective franchises after the second Test against Sri Lanka. Recall that New Zealand beat Sri Lanka by 2 wickets on the last ball in the rain-affected first Test to take a 1-0 lead in the two-match series.
However, many star players of New Zealand will not take part in the ODI series. In such a situation, New Zealand head coach Gary Stead said that Chad Bowes and fast bowler Ben Lister have been added to the ODI squad. Lister made his T20 International debut in India last month. At the same time, batsman Chad Bowes has been selected in the national team for the first time.
