Apart from his fast bowling, Mayank Yadav's explosive popularity as an express fast bowler has probably helped him integrate into the Indian squad more quickly and raised the possibility that he would be chosen for the T20 World Cup team.
The Delhi-born bowler for the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) has excelled in his two professional Indian Premier League (IPL) games. He has bowled at a constant tempo above 150 mph and has struck the correct lengths and lines to challenge every batsman he has faced.
The right-arm speedster's most recent exploit occurred on Tuesday during LSG's encounter against Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the Indian Premier League 2024. He got three wickets (3/14) to demolish the RCB top order, helping LSG defeat the local team at M Chinnaswamy Stadium.
Former Australian all-rounder Tom Moody claims that Mayank is being considered for the next T20 World Cup, which is set to begin on June 1 in the USA and the West Indies.
He is undoubtedly there in the discussion. It's up for debate whether or not to take that chance by punting on him since you also need to think about what kind of skill set you need in your backup fast bowler: someone who can bowl at the last minute or someone who can powerplay. When discussing a T20 World Cup, all those nuanced skill sets come into play, Moody said.
Former New Zealand speed bowler Mitchell McClenaghan added that Mayank would undoubtedly be taken into consideration for selection if he continues to play at his present level.

'If his form continues throughout this tournament, the World Cup starts six days after the IPL, I think it would be crazy not to look at the players who are in form going into that tournament,' McClenaghan stated.
'He might not have the caps behind him, but if he keeps up this kind of play, maintains a high cadence throughout the competition, and wins games- he's already won his last two—you'll be right in the thick of things. Very unlikely, but you wouldn't say never,' he continued.
The 21-year-old seamer for LSG created history by being the first bowler in IPL history to win "Player of the Match" in both of their opening two games.
Stop what you are doing and watch Mayank Yadav bowl. Congratulations #LSG, you've unearthed a gem.

With a season-high ball speed of 156.7 kmph against RCB, he broke his mark of 155.8 kmph established in his IPL debut against Punjab Kings, taking 3/27 in four overs. This is the fourth-fastest ball in IPL history.
Mayank has the potential to be the next big thing in Indian speed, and his ability to terrify opponents in a short amount of time, along with his mastery over line and length, are all contributing factors.
