Jos Buttler smashed a 52-ball 67 as Rajasthan Royals scored 158/6 against Mumbai Indians. The second-highest scorer for RR was Ravichandran Ashwin (21 off 9 balls) who played a cameo to take RR past the 150-run mark. For MI, who are yet to open their account in the tournament, Riley Meredith (2/24) accounted for two wickets, while debutant spinner Kumar Kartikeya was impressed with his one for 19 in his four overs and Daniel Sams (1/32) snapped one.
Id definitely take it, thats how we play, real potential came out today, with the ball specially. They kept applying the pressure. If you keep taking wickets, its going to be difficult for them, we did that perfectly today.
MI captain Rohit Sharma
After a slow start, Buttler remained key to RRs chances of putting up a big score after MI picked up two wickets of Devdutt Padikkal and skipper Sanju Samson in quick succession. Daryl Mitchell joined Jos in the middle but soon departed while trying to take on Daniel Sams for 17 runs. Padikkal fell to Hrithik Shokeen while Samson was removed by Kartikeya as Rajasthan Royals were jolted early by Mumbai Indians.

It does (victory means a lot), because its not an easy time for us. We need to stick together as a team. We didnt win matches earlier, but loved the effort put by the team today. You will lose wickets, you will score runs, such things happen in cricket. The intent from every batter was to finish the game. Hopefully we win a few more matches in the upcoming games. I was keeping for 20 overs and figured out the wicket wasnt easy to score sixes. My intent was to get boundaries in the powerplay to make it easier for the other batters, so that they could come in and score freely. We want to win all the games and make the tournament tough. We need to forget this match and focus on the next game now.
