Mohammed Shami took the maximum of seven wickets for India while Darrell Mitchell made the highest score in New Zealand's innings. He scored 134 runs in 119 balls. Whereas captain Kane Williamson scored 69 runs and Glenn Phillip scored 41 runs.
During New Zealand's innings, captain Kane Williamson made a partnership of 181 runs with Darrell Mitchell. During this, Darrell Mitchell completed his century in only 85 balls. This is Mitchell's second century in this World Cup. He scored his first century of this World Cup against India. When both these batsmen were on the pitch, it seemed that if they stayed on the pitch for some more time, the match could go out of India's grip.
Ultimately Shami broke this pair in the 33rd over of the match. He gave a big success to India by dismissing Kiwi captain Kane Williamson. In the same over, Shami sent Tom Latham back to the pavilion and once again breathed new life into the Indian team and fans.
