Harmanpreet Kaur's half-century helped India beat Bangladesh by 7 wickets and take a 1-0 lead in the series
India beat Bangladesh by 7 wickets in the first T20 match thanks to a brilliant half-century from skipper Harmpreet Kaur (54). Batting first, Bangladesh women's team scored 114 runs for the loss of five wickets in allotted 20 overs. India achieved the target by losing three wickets.

The Indian women's team won the toss and decided to bowl. Bangladesh's first wicket fell on the score of 27. Shathi Rani became the victim of Pooja Vastrakar after scoring 22 runs. Shamima Sultana was caught by Minnu Mani at the hands of Jemima at a score of 17.
India had dropped 4 wickets of Bangladesh on the score of 78. Shorna Akter fought for the team, but she too could not play a big innings. She returned unbeaten after scoring 28 runs. She was the highest run scorer for the team. Three bowlers got wickets for India. Pooja Vastrakar, Shafali Verma and Minnu Mani got one wicket each. Two batsmen were run out.
Chasing Bangladesh's target of 115, India got off to a terrible start. Shefali Verma was dismissed without scoring on the third ball of the first over. Smriti Mandhana and Jemimah Rodrigues anchored the innings. Now the team's score had reached only 21 that Jemima (11) also returned to the pavilion.

Smriti Mandhana got out after scoring 30 runs. After this, Captain Harmanpreet Kaur and Yastika Bhatia took the team to victory by playing carefully. Harmanpreet Kaur scored an unbeaten 54 and Yastika Bhatia scored an unbeaten 9. Sultana Khatoon got two wickets from Bangladesh. Marufa Akter got a wicket.
