The launch of the players ahead of the start of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 took place in Dubai on 19th of this month. The IPL mini auction is also awaited at the base level with all 10 franchise teams. 1166 players have nominated for the IPL mini auction, which includes 830 Indians. However, a total of 77 wickets are vacant for the auction, out of which the number of foreign players has been reduced to 30.
The player list includes 212 capped, 909 uncapped and 45 associate players. If seen, the number of Indian players included in this list is 18. Capped Indian players include Varun Aaron, KS Bharat, Kedar Jadhav, Siddharth Kaul, Dhawal Kulkarni, Shivam Mavi, Shahbaz Nadeem, Karun Nair, Manish Pandey, Harshal Patel, Chetan, Sakariya, Mandeep Singh, Barinder Saran, Shardul Thakur, Jaydev Unadkat, Hanuma. The names are Vihari, Sandeep Warrier and Umesh Yadav.
Prominent players who have registered their names for the auction also include Steve Smith, Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins, Travis Head, Daryl Mitchell and Rachin Ravindra. Starc has registered his name for the IPL auction after a long time.
