Double century in ODIs as captain
December 8, 2011, is a very special day for former Indian opener Virender Sehwag. On this day, Sehwag created history at the Holkar Cricket Stadium in Indore. Then Sehwag played a blistering inning of 219 against the West Indies as captain.
At that time, Sehwag became the first player in the world to score a double century in ODIs as captain. However, after about 6 years, this achievement was also achieved by Rohit Sharma of India. He also scored an unbeaten 208 as captain. Rohit made this record in Mohali ODI against Sri Lanka in 2017. But as a captain, the record of highest score ie highest score in an ODI inning is still in the name of Sehwag. So far only two players have scored a double century in ODIs as captain.
