According to a report by Sportstar, Chaminda Vaas's appointment as the new fast bowling coach for Delhi Capitals is considered all but confirmed. Although an official announcement from the franchise is still pending, Vaas is expected to soon join the team's camp and player trials in New Delhi.
Vaas is one of the world's greatest fast bowlers and possesses immense experience in international cricket:
- Test Career: 355 wickets in 111 matches
- ODI Career: 400 wickets in 322 matches
- Notable Achievement: He is the most successful fast bowler in Sri Lankan history and has previously coached international teams as well as various T20 league sides.
Amit Mishra to Lead Spin Bowling Department

Joining Chaminda Vaas will be former Indian leg-spinner Amit Mishra, who will serve as the spin bowling coach. Mishra shares a long-standing and deep bond with the Delhi franchise and ranks among the most successful bowlers in IPL history. The duo of Vaas and Mishra is set to provide a new foundation for Delhi's bowling attack.
Sourav Ganguly and Yuvraj Singh Take Charge of Support Staff

Delhi Capitals have assembled a truly 'star-studded' support staff for the upcoming season. Former legendary Indian captain Sourav Ganguly has been appointed as the team's head coach, replacing Hemang Badani. Additionally, former all-rounder Yuvraj Singh who played a pivotal role in India's two World Cup victories will serve as the team's assistant coach.
