Shreyas Iyer felt back pain during the warm-up in the match against Pakistan. Indian captain Rohit Sharma, after registering victory over Pakistan, had told that 5 minutes before the toss it was decided that Rahul would be included in place of Iyer. Shreyas Iyer has been suffering from back pain for some time.
India registered a record 228-run win against arch-rivals Pakistan in a match that lasted two days due to rain. After this, it was believed that in the match against Sri Lanka, the Indian team would experiment and give a chance to the players sitting on the bench. It was considered certain that Shreyas Iyer would get a chance in the middle order, but his injury has not healed. Indian fans would like Shreyas Iyer to recover from the back pain problem as soon as possible and return to the national team and perform well. The Indian team would also like Shreyas Iyer to get fit soon because the World Cup is very close.
