The anger of the protesters gathered at Jantar Mantar is not directed at a single incident but is the result of persistent flaws in the examination system over recent times. The following are the main reasons behind the agitation:
- Erosion of Trust: Students allege that incidents of paper leaks in prestigious exams like NEET and alleged irregularities in the CBSE's on-screen marking system have shattered the youth's faith in the entire system.
- Jeopardizing the Future: Persistent delays, technical glitches, and instances of malpractice in recruitment exams for government jobs and higher education (such as SSC and CUET) are causing young people to lose valuable years.
- Rising Mental Stress: Due to exam cancellations, delayed results, and an uncertain future, students today are enduring immense mental pressure and depression.
- Lack of Accountability: Protesters state that despite such major irregularities, neither the government nor the Ministry of Education is taking responsibility, leading to deep resentment among the youth. This is why slogans like "Not 'Make in India', but 'Leak in India'" were raised.

The protesting youth and CJP have presented a charter of demands to the government, clarifying their position and including the following points:
-
Demand for Resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan
The primary and major demand of the protesters is the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. Students believe he should step down, accepting moral responsibility for the failure to manage the examination system effectively.
-
Transparency and Accountability in National Exams (NEET, CBSE, CUET, SSC)
Complete transparency must be ensured in all major examinations such as NEET, CBSE, CUET, and SSC. Strict laws should be enacted to address irregularities in examinations, and accountability must be fixed for those found guilty.
-
Reforms in Digital Education and On-Screen Evaluation System
Systems like CBSE’s on-screen evaluation or any new digital initiatives should not be implemented without adequate preparation. Students demand that such systems not be imposed forcibly until teachers receive proper training and there are full guarantees regarding security.
-
Restoration of Regular Education and Schools in Manipur
With the future of students in the unrest-hit state of Manipur in mind, there is a demand to ensure the regular functioning of schools and colleges and to normalize the education system there.
-
Institutional Support for Student Mental Health and Counseling
Incidents of suicide among students are rising due to mounting pressure. The protesters demand that the government establish a robust and sensitive system at the national level to alleviate stress and provide counseling for students.
