What is special about the winner of Miss Universe 2023?

Palacios, a 23-year-old audiovisual producer and mental health campaigner from Managua, Nicaragua, is listed as Miss Universe.

"She usually likes to stay in the background, but she came out of the shadows because she thinks she can solve as many problems as possible for the world," the organization stated.

"She put herself through her university's communications program by working in her mom's snack company because she is a problem-solver. Her mother moved up north in search of a better career after the firm failed during a recession, and she ended up providing both financial and emotional support for her younger brother and grandma," the organization stated on Instagram.

Palacios' cause as Miss Universe 2023 will be mental health, a result of her struggles with anxiety.

"She founded an approachable project called 'Understand Your Mind,' in which she interviews an expert on emotional care in her television parts, coming from a nation where this topic is rarely addressed. On this topic, she has also developed events and other multimedia initiatives.

"She wants to operate a newsroom and create content and advertisements for global businesses to work for the betterment of mankind. She enjoys a good mental game and puzzle in her free time, and she rescues dogs and kittens," the organization continued.

Palacios defeated candidates from eighty-three different nations, including Miss India Shweta Sharda, who made it into the top 20.

In addition, Erica Robin, the first Miss Universe Pakistan 2023, reached the top 20.

John Legend, an American singer-songwriter, played his hit song "All of Me" during the event.
