For West Indies, number nine batsman Gudakesh Moti scored the highest 45 runs. Maharaj has taken his total number of wickets in Test cricket to 171 and thus he has become South Africa's most successful spinner. He surpassed Hugh Tayfield. Maharaj took 13 wickets in the current series against West Indies.
Earlier, South Africa resumed their innings from 223 runs for five wickets but their entire team was bowled out for 246 runs. West Indies had a target of 263 runs but their top order batsmen failed. Moti and Joshua Da Silva (27) raised hopes by sharing 77 runs but Maharaj ensured South Africa's victory by dismissing both of them. South Africa batted first and scored 160 runs in their first innings. In reply, West Indies were bowled out for 144 runs.
