Nitesh Kumar won the gold medal by defeating Daniel Bethell of Great Britain in the final of badminton singles SL3. Nitesh Kumar performed brilliantly in the first set. He did not give his opponent a chance to survive. Daniel Bethell flopped badly against Indian player Nitesh Kumar. Nitesh played brilliantly. He maintained the lead from the beginning. That is why he won the set 21-14.

The situation changed completely in the second set. Great Britain's Daniel Bethell looked very aggressive in this set. Nitesh made many mistakes in this set. In the end, Bethell won this set 21-18. By winning the second set, he equalized the match 1-1.

The deciding game was also a closely fought contest, with Bethell saving a match point and then putting himself on the verge of victory. However, Nitesh made a comeback and eventually won the game and the gold. Nitesh, who lost his left leg in a train accident in 2009, was the top seed for the event and entered the semi-finals by winning all three of his Group A matches.

He began his campaign by defeating compatriot Manoj Sarkar 2-1 (21-13, 18-21, 21-18), then beat China's Yang Jianyuan 2-0 (21-5, 21-11) and Thailand's Bunson Mongkhon 2-0 (21-13, 21-14) to conclude his group bouts.

In the last-four stage, Nitesh faced Japan's Daisuke Fujihara and entered the final with a brilliant performance. He won 21-16, 21-12.
