India's para-athletes will once again be seen in action on the sixth day of Paralympics 2024. India is hoping for many medals on the sixth day as well.
India jumped 12 places in the medal tally of the Paris Paralympics 2024 to win eight medals on a historic day on Monday, September 2. Sumit Antil produced a stellar performance for the Indian Paralympics contingent in Paris on Monday as he broke his own Games record in the men's javelin throw event by throwing a distance of 70.59m to retain his gold medal. Nitesh Kumar won a historic gold medal in the men's SL3 badminton event by defeating Bethell of Great Britain in the final.
On the fifth day, India won three bronze and as many silver medals, taking the medal tally to 15 on Monday. The sixth day on September 3 is expected to bring four potential medals for the Indian contingent, with Avani Lekhara and Mona Agarwal in action once again, this time in the women's 50m rifle 3 positions SH1 qualification event and then expected to compete in the final for a medal. Bhagyashree Jadhav will be in the shot-put final, while Pooja will compete in the women's recurve archery event.
