Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India has launched the new adventure tourer bike NX500 in the Indian market. The company has kept its ex-showroom price at Rs 5.90 lakh. It has been introduced in place of Honda CB500X in the company's lineup.
In India, the bike will come as a fully built unit and will be sold only at the company's premium retail outlet chain, Bigwing. Bookings for the model have started and deliveries will begin from February. It will compete with Kawasaki Versys 650, Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 and KTM 390 Adventure.
The new tourer bike has been developed on a steel diamond-tube mainframe. In terms of styling, the overall look of the bike is similar to the CB500X, but some upgrades have been included in it.
The bike gets all-LED headlight, large fairing, tall windscreen and newly designed tail lamp, emergency stop signal, 5-inch full-color TFT screen with customizable display option.
Honda NX500 will get 3 color options. These include Grand Prix Red, Matte Gunpowder Black Metallic and Pearl Horizon White.
Honda NX500 has a 471cc liquid-cooled, 4-stroke, twin-parallel DOHC engine, which generates power of 46.5bhp and peak torque of 43Nm. For transmission, it is tuned with a 6-speed gearbox.
