A total of 40 matches will be played in the first season of the league. There will also be women's matches in this. 33 matches will be played in the men's category and 7 in the women's category. All the matches will be played at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. Former Indian opener Virender Sehwag has been declared the brand ambassador of DPL.
In the opening match of the league, South Delhi Superstars will face Purani Delhi-6. All eyes will be on Indian team batsman and wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant and right-arm fast bowler Ishant Sharma from Purani Delhi-6. Purani Delhi-6 owner Akash Nangia said that he is excited to start the league with a great lineup of the team. Ishant Sharma and Rishabh Pant will strengthen the team.
