Akhtar statement on Asia Cup

Shoaib Akhtar has questioned the ongoing controversy regarding the Asia Cup. There is a dispute between BCCI and PCB regarding the Asia Cup. Pakistan is the official host of the Asia Cup but the BCCI has decided not to send the Indian team to Pakistan.

Seeing the attitude of BCCI, PCB retaliated and said that if India does not come to the Asia Cup, then Pakistan will boycott the World Cup 2023. On this Akhtar said that it should not be made an issue.

The former fast bowler said, 'These are bad things. Nothing can be done by BCCI or PCB in this matter. BCCI cannot do anything without asking the Indian government. Our board cannot do anything without consulting the government of our country. When it comes to India-Pakistan rivalry, everyone is voicing their views. I request all the former players of both the teams to refrain from making unnecessary statements. If Narendra Modi's government gives the green signal then who is the BCCI to travel to Pakistan.
