The Pakistan Cricket Board has announced the probable squad for the upcoming ODI series against New Zealand. The selectors will select 16 players in the 21-member squad. Sharjeel Khan has been included in this squad. He played his last ODI in 2017.
Apart from this, the names being discussed in the team include the names of Kasim Akram and Abrar Ahmed. Qasim was the captain of Pakistan's Under-19 World Cup this year. Apart from this, he has played for Karachi Kings in PSL under the captaincy of Babar Azam.
Spin bowler Abrar Ahmed, who made a splash in his Test debut against England, has also got a place in this squad. He created a sensation by taking 11 wickets in his debut test match.
Pakistan cricket's star bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi is still not fully recovered from the injury. This is the reason why his name is not there in this squad. He was injured during the final of the T20 World Cup.
The 3 ODI series against New Zealand is going to start from 9th January. The second and third matches of the series will be played at National Stadium Karachi on January 11 and 13 respectively.
