Tomar claimed that his mobile phone was taken away, preventing him from contacting anyone. Feeling threatened, he reportedly locked himself inside a room for his own safety.

According to the FIR, Shashank Singh, his father, and the family's driver allegedly broke open the room's door, physically assaulted the cook, and later forced him out of the house.

Following the complaint, local police arranged a medical examination. Reports indicate that injury marks were found on the complainant's face and body, which have been included in the investigation.

Based on the complaint, Ratibad Police have registered the case under multiple provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including:
